Before you start, cover your work surface to avoid mess.

STEP ONE: BUFF YOUR NAILS

The aim of buffing is to remove all that lovely shine from your nails to let the acetone do its job. Buff the whole surface of the nail, avoiding the cuticle. But remember, only buff the shiny seal. Buffing through to your natural nail may cause damage.

You may want to do this bit one hand at a time.

STEP TWO: APPLY THE ACETONE

Soak a small piece of cotton wool in acetone and press it against your nail. Wrap a piece of foil around the tip of your finger to hold the cotton wool in place.

This is where a kit comes in handy. The Sensationail Removal Kit, Tool and Gel Polish Remover Bundle comes with easy-to-use foils, cotton pads and an acetone dropper. Simply drip the acetone into the foil wrapper containing the cotton pad, pop your finger in the pouch and repeat with your other nails.

STEP THREE: WAIT

Once you’ve applied the foils to all your nails, wait 15-20 minutes. When removing your foils, press down on it as you pull it off your nail. This will take most of the gel nail polish with it.

STEP FOUR: USING THE REMOVAL TOOL

Grab your cuticle stick (or, if you’re using our kit, the Sensationail removal tool). Slowly push the tool from cuticle to tip. If the gel nail polish doesn’t slide off easily, replace the foil and wait another few minutes.
